Remember Myster Science Theatre 3000?

Remember how great that was?

Well, a couple of months ago, The Escapist started a new video collumn called ‘unskippable’, which is the same basic premise:  the (long) opening movie of a game, with 2 people talking over it, in humerous ways.

I was entirely prepared for this to be not at all funny, because I’ve had it in my head for a long time that The Escapist itself is not at all funny, with the exception of the Zero Punctuation collumn.

Happilly, of the two videos I’ve watched thus far, (and there appear to be 7 or so, with new ones popping up once a week,) both of them have been incredibly funny.

I can’t say for sure whether or not this will appeal to those of you who aren’t as ….in to video games as I am.  I would be willing to hazard the guess, however, that humor is humor, and, as a result, you’d probably enjoy these just as much.  They are just over 7 minutes in length, and worth every penny.

In closing, let’s see how well embedding actually works on Tumblr.
